                                    COMPUTER RULES & ETIQUETTE
            Safety First
  • Sit straight up and all four feet of the chair on the floor at all times.
  • Wash hands prior to using a computer.
  • The computer should remain on your desk at all times.
  • No food or drink in the lab station.
  • Do not visit any unapproved Internet sites.

  • Only after reading the directions.
  • For clarity, if you are uncertain about …..
  • For permission to print.
        Respect Your Teacher, Classmates & Yourself
TEACHER
  • Pay attention and sit quietly when your teacher is talking.
  • Close the lid of your computer when your teacher is talking
CLASSMATE
  • Help your neighbor, if help is needed.
  • Do not make fun of others work.
  • Save your work in your home directory, Google Drive, or on a flash drive.
EQUIPMENT
  • Use your assigned computer
  • Do not touch other keyboards or mice.
  • No banging your mouse or computer.
  • Do not remove the icons on the desktop.
  • Do not change any system settings.
  • Do not edit or delete files that do not belong to you.
  • Leave your workspace tidy.
    - End all programs        - Put headphones away
    - Log off Computer/ Google Drive
    - Push in your chair    - Pick up trash and debris
        Internet Safety
  • Visit only approved sites (with permission).
  • Do not download anything.
  • Never give out personal information or share passwords.
  • If you see anything that makes you feel uncomfortable, NOTIFY your teacher immediately.
  • Anything posted to the Internet for a class assignment should follow school and classroom rules for language, grammar, SAFETY, etiquette, etc.

Technology Ethics and Proper Conduct
1. I will NOT use technology to harm other people.
2. I will NOT interfere with other people’s (computer) work.
3. I will NOT snoop around or destroy other people’s computer files.
4. I will NOT use technology/computers to steal.
5. I WILL honor people’s rights, including copyrights and patents.
6. I WILL give proper credit for intellectual “property”.
7. I WILL visit approved and appropriate websites. If I am not certain about what is “appropriate”, I will ask my teacher.
8. I WILL NOT damage technology/computers. I WILL report any damage to my teacher immediately.
9. I WILL ALWAYS use technology in my class for the purpose prescribed by my teacher.
10. I WILL use technology in accordance to classroom, school, district, and federal laws.
